Open University

These are some of the Open University courses that I have studied/am studying so far. I have given my impression of each course and provided links to useful information about each, but as time goes by courses may change in content and so you should keep this in mind when reading my comments.

  • Web Applications.
    So far, I have completed the first four courses and will begin the fifth in early October 2005:

    • TT280 - Web Applications (completed 2002).

    • TT281 - The client side of applications development (completed 2003).

    • TT282 - the server side of applications development (completed 2004).

    • TT380 - Databases within website design (completed 2005).

  • Sciences

    • S103 - Discovering Science (2005)

    • S282 - Astronomy. (2003)  I've had to drop out of this course (late July 2003) but have included information and links on as much of the course as possible, so it should still be useful to anyone thinking of taking S282 next year. There is also advice about buying a telescope included.

  • Computing

    • MT262 - C++ programming. (2002)

    • M206 - computing: an object-oriented approach. (2003)

    • M358 - Relational Databases. (2004)

    • M360 - Developing Internet Applications. (2004)  I've dropped out of this course mid-way through, but again have provided some information and links which will hopefully be of some use.

    • M254 - Java Everywhere. (2005)  I've dropped out of this course due to computer and health problems.
